Frequently referred to as the best novel ever about running. A true cult classic and must read! I literally could not put this book down.
|Again to Carthage by John L. Parker Jr.
The sequel to Once a Runner. Another masterpiece from John L Parker. "One of the best accounts in print of the physical and emotional torments athletes endure in their superhuman efforts.
This is most thorough and scientific training book I've read to date. This book will absolutely take your training to the next level.
|Ultramarathon Man: Confessions of an All-Night Runner by Dean Karnazes
Wether it's having pizzas delivered to him while on the run, planning the first marathon on the South Pole, or completing a 100 mile ultramarathon... this book is full of amazing stories!
|The 80/10/10 Diet by Douglas N. Graham
This is not your ordinary "diet", fruitarianism is a way of life! While I am not a strict fruitarian eating 30 bananas a day, most of my diet revolves around principles in this book. The high carb ratio is great for distance runners!
|My Life on the Run: The Wit, Wisdom, and Insights of a Road Racing Icon by Bart Yasso
Follow Bart (the mayor of running) through his adventures across all seven continents! This is a fast and very fun read!
|Advanced Marathoning by Pete Pfitzinger
I wish I found this book sooner! Following the Daniels' approach, Pfitzinger and Douglas have crafted a must have book for serious marathoners. If you're hesitant, read the reviews!
|Chi Running: A Revolutionary Approach to Effortless, Injury-Free Running by Danny Dreyer
Great instructional book to improve your running form and train injury free. This helped me develop more of a midfoot strike and become lighter on my feet!
|Brain Training for Runners: A Revolutionary New Training System to Improve Endurance, Speed, Health, and Res ults by Matt Fitzgerald
Very different and interesting approach to training. The concepts in this book really have taken my running to a new level!
