This will be a real quick post, I promise. Tomorrow is the Hamptons Marathon and Half-Marathon and I just wanted to share my goals for tomorrow’s race. It makes me accountable.
As I am currently training for the 2010 New York City Marathon, I have to admit… I am looking forward to running a nice short 13.1 mile race. I just hope this horrible rain we have been having in NY is over and we get some nice cool running weather.
So here are the main goals for tomorrow:
- Have fun!
- Treat this as a hard “training run” for NYC
- Go out slow (8:30 first mile)
- Maintain an average pace below 8:00 per mile (1 hour 45 minutes)
- Cheer on all the “first timers” at the finish line
Based on my last few pace runs (9 Miler at 7:53 Pace and 12 Miler at 8:09 Pace), I am feeling pretty confident about these goals!
I will be sure to report back my results!
I’d say you nailed it
I acheived everything I wanted too! But I’ll post a full recap (once pictures are up).
