Movies

The only thing I love more than running is movies!  Nothing is more inspiring than a great running movie!  Below are some titles that I highly recommend.  Please note that these are affiliate links.

The "first" Steve Prefontaine movie, starring Jared Leto.  The incredible against-all-odds life story of track legend Steve Prefontaine and his quest for Olympic gold!

The "other" Steve Prefontaine movie, starring Billy Crudup.  This movie is told in a different light than the other version and is definitely worth a watch in its own right.

Intimate documentary that follows seasoned athletes and amateurs alike in their preparation for the Chicago Marathon.

Follow "Ultramarathon Man" Dean Karnazes on his journey to run 50 marathons in 50 states in 50 consecutive days.  Simply put, this is an amazing movie.

The Long Green Line documents the York Duke High School's 2005 Cross Country season as the runners seek their record 25th state title in 50 years.

A true classic and winner of the 1981 Oscar for best picture.  Chariots of Fire is a true tale of determination and inspiration!

Another "classic" that tells the story of a rebellious social misfit and petty thief who is picked to run on the track team at a reform school for boys.

Not necessarily a "running" movie, but an extremely interesting look at how what you put in your body dectates your overall health.

Follow Joe Cross as he juices his way from a fat, sick, and nearly dead guy, to a happy and healthy person.
